durhamfi Album
Since 2017, Lofi Girl has been a hugely popular live-streaming music channel on YouTube. While working at Discover Durham, I pitched the idea of creating a Durham-inspired lofi album that could tap into that same cozy, ambient vibe. By early 2020, that idea became a reality through a partnership with Durham’s Blackspace. The project featured original tracks by local artists — each inspired by a specific place in Durham — along with cover art by illustrator Alison Hawkins. It became a way to spotlight the city’s creative community: its sound, its spaces, and the people who make it vibrant.
Here is the original inspiration.
